The F3 debug screen is your most important tool in speedrunning. It shows coordinates, biome information, facing direction, chunk data, and entity counts. Mastering F3 reading is essential for navigation, structure finding, and triangulation.

Understand the relationship between Overworld and Nether coordinates. The Nether operates at 1/8 scale: dividing Overworld X and Z by 8 gives the corresponding Nether coordinates.

Know when to reset a run and when to continue. Top runners reset 95%+ of their runs. Learning what constitutes acceptable RNG is key to fast times.

Mathematically determine the exact stronghold location using two eye of ender throws from different positions.

Navigate the Nether safely and efficiently to find structures. Mastering movement here is critical since most speedrun time is spent in the Nether.

Use beds to deal explosive damage to the Ender Dragon during its perching phase. Beds explode when used in The End, dealing massive damage.

Efficiently barter gold ingots with piglins to obtain ender pearls, obsidian, and other useful items. Bartering is the primary source of ender pearls in RSG.

Build a Nether portal quickly using lava buckets and water. The bucket-cast method creates obsidian in-place without mining it with a diamond pickaxe.
