Bastion Remnant Routing
MediumNether NavigationNavigate to a bastion remnant in the Nether to trade gold with piglins for ender pearls. Bastions contain gold blocks, chest loot, and piglin mobs that can barter ender pearls, obsidian, iron, and other useful items.
When to Use
In nearly every RSG Any% run. Bastions are the primary source of ender pearls through piglin bartering.

Core strategy, not optional for most runs
Step-by-Step Guide
Enter the Nether
Get into the Nether as quickly as possible using any portal method.
Locate a bastion
Travel along one axis (preferably the positive X or Z direction). Bastions generate in all nether biomes except basalt deltas.
Identify the type
There are 4 bastion types: Bridge, Housing, Stables, and Treasure. Treasure bastions have the best loot.
Mine gold blocks
Break gold blocks found in the bastion. Each gold block yields 9 gold ingots for bartering.
Barter with piglins
Drop gold ingots to piglins one at a time. They have a chance to give ender pearls, obsidian, iron nuggets, and more.
Collect and move on
Once you have enough pearls (12+), head toward a fortress for blaze rods.
Pros
- +Most reliable source of ender pearls in RSG
- +Provides additional useful items (obsidian, iron, string)
- +Gold blocks are guaranteed in bastions
- +Piglins can drop fire resistance potions
Cons
- -Piglins are hostile without gold armor, risky
- -Bartering RNG can be unfavorable
- -Hoglins in stables/housing bastions are dangerous
- -Time spent bartering can vary wildly
