The most popular speedrun category. Beat the Ender Dragon as fast as possible with a random seed. No glitches allowed. RSG (Random Seed Glitchless) requires generating a new world with a random seed each attempt.

Rules

  • Timer starts on world creation
  • Timer ends when the Ender Dragon death animation completes and the credits begin
  • No glitches, exploits, or external tools (mods for timing/verification are allowed)
  • Must use a random seed, no pre-selected seeds
  • Single player only
  • World must be generated on default settings (no bonus chest)
  • Game version must be declared at submission

Overworld

Spawn, gather wood, craft tools, find a village or lava pool

Nether Entry

1:30-3:00

Build or find a nether portal. Bucket lava cast or village portal are common methods

Nether Fortress / Bastion

3:00-5:00

Locate a bastion for gold/pearls or a fortress for blaze rods. Trade with piglins for ender pearls

Blaze Rods

5:00-6:00

Kill blazes for blaze rods (minimum 7 recommended). Use beds or gear from bastion

Nether Exit

6:00-6:30

Return to the overworld with blaze rods and ender pearls

Stronghold

6:30-7:30

Craft eyes of ender, throw to locate stronghold, dig down to portal room

End Portal

7:30-8:00

Fill the end portal frame and enter The End

Dragon Fight

Destroy end crystals with beds, kill the Ender Dragon with beds

  • ▸Practice nether navigation, it is the biggest time save for most runners
  • ▸Learn to read F3 coordinates efficiently for portal linkage and stronghold triangulation
  • ▸Craft beds in bulk, they are essential for the dragon fight and fortress clears
  • ▸Reset quickly if you do not find a structure in the nether within 2 minutes
  • ▸Always carry a water bucket for MLG saves
