SpeedRunIGT
A timer mod for Minecraft speedrunning by RedLime. It shows real time (RTA) and in-game time (IGT) on screen, starts and pauses by itself in more than 20 categories, and lets you add your own.
Purpose
Times your run inside the game, with both real time and in-game time on screen.
Setup Guide
Install Fabric Loader for your Minecraft version. Versions 1.14 and newer use Fabric Loader, while 1.3 to 1.13 need Legacy Fabric.
Download SpeedRunIGT from its download page. Every Minecraft version has its own build, so pick the file that names your version.
Put the .jar in the mods folder of that instance and start the game.
Choose your category in the mod's options. In the supported categories the timer starts and pauses on its own.
Set the timer position, scale and color, and load a custom font if you like. The README links a video that shows how the font works.
Playing with several instances, in fullscreen or on macOS is fine: the README confirms SpeedRunIGT works in all three cases.

Categories with an automatic timer
The current SpeedRunIGT source has a built-in category for each of the runs below. Any% and All Advancements belong to the main Minecraft board on speedrun.com, Quater comes from the PogLoot category extensions, and nearly all the others link to Minecraft Category Extensions.

Options that matter for verification
Auto Retime for SRC retimes Any% runs by the speedrun.com rules when they finish under 13 minutes on 1.16 and later, under 17 minutes on 1.9 to 1.15 and under 23 minutes before 1.9. It switches itself off for set seeds and for categories other than Any%, and Always Use Auto Retime shows the retimed IGT after every completed run, whatever the time.
- Start at First Input starts the timer at your first movement or inventory action instead of at world load, for categories that start that way.
- Auto Toggle to Any%/AA: in Random Seed Any% or All Advancements, reaching the credits within the minutes you set turns the run into Any%. Otherwise you carry on as All Advancements.
- Auto Co-op Timer Mode shares one timer between players once someone joins your world or you join a server.
- Legacy IGT Mode counts in-game time from the ticks in your player statistics, the same method LiveSplit uses.
- Make Record writes a record file for every run, only for completed runs, or never.
- Generate Timer Logs creates the timer logs for the world you are playing, for when you picked the wrong category.
- Debug Mode writes extra lines to the Minecraft log to catch bugs. The option itself warns that speedrun.com may reject normal runs played with it.
Timer display and practice
In Timer Display Options you click anywhere on the screen to place the timer and use Ctrl with the arrow keys to move it precisely. From there you can lock its position, change the scale, the number of decimals, the text style (none, outline or shadow), the alignment and the red, green and blue values, add a background with its own opacity and padding, and turn off the timer labels. Hide Timer in Options and Hide Timer in F3 keep it off those screens.
Custom fonts go in the fonts folder, and Safe Font Mode skips custom TTF fonts for graphics drivers that crash on them. Detect Practice Map switches to practice mode when a map shows a timer on the action bar, and End Practice by TP stops that timer when you are teleported.
SpeedRunIGT can also send timer data to therun.gg: add your upload key and turn on TheRun Live, which makes your live runs public on therun.gg.
Notes
SpeedRunIGT is on the MCSR legal mods list, and its README confirms it is allowed for run verification on speedrun.com/mc. The list has builds for versions as old as 1.3.1 and as new as 26.2, and for April Fools versions such as 24w14potato. The mod is open source under the MIT license.

Where does SpeedRunIGT keep its files?
Timer settings are saved in the instance folder unless you turn on Use Global Options, which saves them to a folder for your user instead. SpeedRunIGT's global folder is speedrunigt inside %APPDATA% on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/speedrunigt on macOS and ~/.local/share/speedrunigt on Linux, or under XDG_DATA_HOME when that is set. It holds the fonts, records and categories folders, and categories you write yourself go in categories as JSON files.
Which Minecraft versions does SpeedRunIGT support?
The README lists 1.14 to 1.21 with Fabric Loader and 1.3 to 1.13 with Legacy Fabric Loader, with some subversions missing or outdated. The Modrinth page goes further and in September 2026 listed builds from 1.3.1 up to 26.2.
