Ruined Portal Entry

EasyNether Entry

Use a naturally generated ruined portal to enter the Nether quickly, saving time on mining obsidian or building a portal from scratch. Ruined portals spawn with partial obsidian frames and often contain loot chests with useful items like iron, gold, and flint and steel.

When to Use

When you spawn near a visible ruined portal, especially one that only needs 1-3 obsidian blocks to complete.

Estimated Time Save

30-90 seconds vs mining obsidian

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Locate the portal

Scan the horizon from spawn. Ruined portals generate in all biomes. Look for the distinctive obsidian/crying obsidian structure.

2

Check the chest

Loot the chest next to the portal for gold ingots, flint and steel, obsidian, or fire charges.

3

Complete the frame

Fill in missing obsidian blocks. If you lack obsidian, use a lava bucket and water source to cast new blocks in place.

4

Light the portal

Use flint and steel or a fire charge from the chest. Enter immediately.
